How to choose a ghillie suit

Start with season and mobility. A dense, traditional ghillie gives the best concealment but bakes you on a warm day and slows you down; a lightweight 3D suit breathes and moves for spring turkey but covers a little less. Do you really need a ghillie suit to hunt?

No — most deer hunters do fine with quiet camo, natural cover, and a good wind. A ghillie earns its place when you're concealing on open ground with no blind or cover to tuck into, or for turkey and predator hunting where you're exposed and need to break up your outline completely. If you hunt from a blind, you don't need one.

Are ghillie suits good for bow hunting?
