Blind & Brush exists to answer one kind of question honestly: what should I buy to stay hidden?Not what has the flashiest ad, not what a paid pro-staffer swears by, but what the specs and the math actually support for the hunter trying to solve a concealment problem — staying unseen, unheard and un-smelled long enough to fill a tag.
Who writes this
The site is written by Stephen V., and here’s the honest version of who that is. Stephen is an enthusiast who's genuinely into the concealment side of hunting — blinds, brush, scent and setup. He hasn't field-tested every blind on this site and won't pretend he has. What he does is read the manuals and spec sheets, compile the published numbers, and do the math that actually matters for staying hidden. No lab coat, no sponsored hunts, no invented test lab — just the specs, the sources, and an honest 'skip this' when a product doesn't hold up.
That framing matters, so we’ll be blunt about it: we are nota test lab, a guide service, or a panel of biologists. We don’t own every blind on the site, and we haven’t sat in most of them. Plenty of hunting sites imply otherwise — “we tested 20 blinds” — and can’t prove it. We’d rather tell you what we genuinely do and let you judge it.
What we actually do
We read the manuals and spec sheets. We compile the published numbers — window layouts, denier, BTU, FPS, rated capacities, safety ratings — and do the arithmetic that decides whether a piece of gear keeps you concealed or safe. We cross-check what owners report, we pull prices live so the numbers on the page are real and dated, and we tell you plainly when to skip a pick. Where a maker won’t publish a figure, we print “Not published” instead of guessing — because what a brand hides is information too.

We state that plainly because it’s the honest number, and because getting it right is the whole point. A published, reproducible method built on real specs and cited sources is something you can check. A borrowed credential or an invented field test is not. We’d rather earn your trust the checkable way.
